Instrument Cluster Gauges Not Working. If i turn on the a/c, both fans turn on properly and everything works. The cluster wakes up based on can bus signals.

The gauges on the instrument cluster do not work, but all the lights turn on. The instrument cluster dash light not working and everything else is good. Low battery voltage can cause gauges not to work correctly.

Discussion starter · #1 · may 6, 2019 (edited by moderator) we started having an issue last year with our instrument cluster gauges not working on our 03 duramax. I have 2003 f150, removed gauge cluster to solder the odometer (fix i found on youtube).

It sounds like some signal is not getting across the can to activate the cluster with the engine running. You can easily check the grounding by looking under the dash and using a flashlight.

Radio worked and most gauges were working but the tach, spedo, and temp gauges were dead and the new cluster is showing check gauges. The temp gauge does not move at all.

Ipc when starting, warning engine light comes up for second then disappears once started. I checked my fuses, had a blown fuse for cooling fan (yellow fuse), so i replaced that.

I'm reasonably certain that the new (used) cluster is in good working order but i'm not sure why i would be having this issue. Cluster gauge lights don’t work…all other little lights work (check engine light, seatbelt, brights)!

It Looks Like It Is Stuck 5/8Ths Way Up, Even When The Car Is On Or Off.

Using a scan tool run diagnostics to see if. Instrument panel cluster gauges and odometer has stopped working. If so look for a disconnected wiring harness around the firewall.
